Studio Sessions with Once Wed

I think that anyone who knows me personally knows that photography is much more than just a career to me. It’s a longing, a passion… and an art I truly respect. Every off season I reserve a little time for me… to learn my art more fully and to fill up with inspiration for the new year. It’s one of the most important things I do for myself and my clients, and this year my search took me to Studio Sessions by Once Wed in Atlanta, Georgia. The amazing Joy Thigpen (who has a knack for creating things that I feel as if I might be dreaming when I’m looking at) and Emily Newman (the very talented and stylish editor at Once Wed) headed up the class- and as wisdom spewed out our their mouths I found myself taking copious notes, hoping I wouldn’t let a word drop unnoticed. This workshop was not about photography as much as feeling, not about details as much as essence and I came away refreshed and energized. It’s also worthy to note that little touches like the personal journals (calligraphy by Neither Snow) waiting for us upon arrival, florals all around by Amy Osaba, and meeting new friends over glasses of red wine were the sweet icing on the cake.

I’m so excited for my next adventure that starts January 28… a trip to the Nevada desert for a month (can’t wait to share some beautiful photo shoots I’ve been planning) and then to a Photo Field Trip in Santa Barbara, California- which I’m counting on to be as hippy dippy as it sounds(!!).
