Winter Bridal Couture {Vintage Fashion}

So most of you know by now I’m OBSESSED with weddings. From managing a bridal salon to photographing weddings… I just can’t get away from it! Because of this I obsess about all kinds of things I could do if I was to have a wedding every month (to the same guy of course… haha!) And this month, with Nature giving us such a gift ; all the sunshine and mild weather (until this week…), I really wanted to create a look that would be more winter appropriate with well worn and loved pieces thrown in and a very DIY vibe. It’s so easy to think that DIY means cheesy carnation bouquets or whatnot, but I think with a little creativity, budget friendly and beautiful can co-exist!

With this vision in mind, I pulled out my crafting materials and my sewing machine and got started. The dress was made from McCall’s Cynthia Rowley Series pattern 2497 with some customizations by yours truly. The yarn bouquet was created from inspiration from a tutorial on Ruffled Blog (See it Here). I’ve listed them both on Etsy as well if you’d like to have the look, but don’t feel like being creative! (HERE)

One thing I’ve come to realize about styled sessions is that they’re really only as great as the vendors you are working with, so I want to thank Leticia Benitez from Eye Candy Makeup for her AMAZING work… she listened to my crazy explanations of the vision I was going for and MADE IT HAPPEN. I also want to thank It’s Just Serendipity for the accessories and props… Karen was such a lifesaver for me, and they have the most INCREDIBLE shop in Hammond, Indiana that you have to go visit. Everything is put together so tastefully and the shop is stocked with only the most perfect items. Lastly, thank you to my lovely friend and fellow photographer Esther (Est. Photography) who quite frankly ROCKED it for the camera.

XOXO…
