Inspired {Chicago Fashion Photography}

So, if you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a hundred times… photographers saying how important it is so take a break, pull the camera out, and shoot some personal work. I’m no different. After a summer of wonderful weddings and portraits, my soul just longs to be refilled with inspiration. Not that the weddings and portraits are not inspirational, because they are, and my clients are beautiful. BUT there’s something about selling your art… a little part of it is like selling your soul. There are bills to be paid and many costs to run a business, so this is a necessary evil, but once in awhile, doing something with no strings attached is just a beautiful thing. And for me, when I get an opportunity to do a little personal work, it’s all about telling a story that’s been lingering in my head for awhile.

I dreamed of a wreath of red flowers, a little Victorian innocence and a sunny Autumn day… and the result is below. I adore simplicity and romance. On a side note, wouldn’t a wreath like this be such a stunner on a bride?

An enormous thanks to my beautiful inside AND out friend Vikki, who took the story in my head and told it so perfectly. She’s a star. Really.
